Singapore Day 2: Ikea Shopping

The morning of Day 2 of our Singapore trip was reserved for Ikea. Kung merong excited and scared, ako iywon.

Excited because I love Ikea. The things there are very affordable. Scared because I don't know how far mawawasak ang wallet ko sa place na 'yon. I was thinking about the baggage allotment. I remembered our Ikea loots from Amsterdam. Hindi alam ni Sombrero paano na siya isisiksik sa maleta namin. I don't want that to happen sa SG. Hehehe.

We had breakfast first at the hotel.

Then we waited for a taxi at the hotel lobby. Outfit of the day muna:

Dress: Forever 21; Sling bag: Stradivarius; Sandals: Fitflops
Before we left, Toots was making us kulit to go to Funan Mall to buy his 1 terabyte external disk. The Funan Mall is where you buy cheap gadgets daw. Malapit lang naman siya sa Orchard Hotel, around $7 yung binayaran namin sa taxi.

Toots told us that the Funan Mall opens at 10am. It was only 930am when we arrived so we had picture taking first.

Wowa's outfit of the day. I dunno where she bought that dress.

It turned out that the Funan Mall opens at 11am. Hay naku. We left na lang kasi sayang oras. Derecho na kaming Ikea in Alexandra. Ikea opens at 10am naman. There are two Ikea stores in SG. One in Alexandra and the other is at Tampines. The one in Tampines is the bigger one. We went to the Alexandra branch because sa harap ng Ikea dito eh may mall na may mga outlet stores: Charles and Keith, Cotton On etc. Diagonally naman from Ikea (across the road) there are sports outlet stores naman. O di ba?! Planadong planado ko yan! =D

Here's the Ikea in Alexandra:

When we got inside, I saw this:

I super like it! Ang tawag nila dito si smart cabinet ata. This can store a lot of things. I love that it comes in my favorite color -- red!

While Wowa was in the powder room, I noticed this:

Ang thoughtful ano? Tamang tama for stores like this. Sana ang SM Department Store or the furniture shops magkaroon din ng ganito.

Anyways, when we went further inside:

ME: I'm so excited!!! Baka madami akong mabili nito!!

WOWA: Hay naku. Ako hindi ako masyadong bibili. Baka may ganyan din naman sa Pilipinas. Sayang ang space sa maleta.

Kaya pala.

Look!

Eh mas nauna pa siyang dumampot ng bibilhin kaysa sa akin eh!

Hahahaha!

While we were going around the store, I saw the wooden kitchen set that I want to buy Anika.

My dad bought her na the pots and pans. Yang kitchen itself na lang ang kulang talaga. I wanted to buy it already because it was cheap: $40 + $119 = $159. That is only around Php 5,565! Dito they're selling it for almost double the price =/

Yun lang it was so heavy. 21 kilos siya =c Wowa and I computed the cost if we pay na lang for the over baggage and it turned out na ganun din, double din yung magiging price niya lumalabas. Di na lang.

Sayang. I'll just ask my dad if he can buy it in Amsterdam then ipa-Balikbayan box niya here. It's cheaper that way. I think.

Anyways, moving on. There were a lot of necessary and unnecessary stuff there that I like. Like this brush for example.

WOWA: Anak, ano yan?

ME: Pang scrub ng plate.

WOWA: Pang scrub ng pwet?!

ME: Plate Ma! Plate! Hindi pwet! Bakit mo naman ipangsu-scrub ng pwet yan?!

WOWA: Malay ko ba.

Hihihihi.

When we moved on, I saw this na naman and I palpitated!!!

Storage boxes galore!!!!
I'm sorry because I said ang dami ko niyan sa bahay and I'll never buy another one ever again pero I wasn't able to help it eh!

I can't wait to show you what I bought hehehe! Pinili ko lang yung mga magagaan.

I also bought this pretty lamp for my blogging desk.

I like this couch. Bagay siya sa akin.. magulo din.

These are the chairs na sa Amsterdam pa lang pinagnanasaan na namin ni Alvin. I like the one in red and the small white one for Anika. Again, it's hard to take it home so loss ako.

I also saw this cute high chair. Astig di ba? Futuristic lang ang peg.

When we got to the kitchen area, I just bought a lot of table napkins. Fetish ko din yan eh. I love the table napkins of Ikea because they're very thick. It's great to use for parties and if you have guests in the house. I should also have bought a small frying pan for eggs kaso meron naman niyan dito sa Pinas. Ang cute eh pero I'll just buy it at Gourdo's here.

Wowa naman, dito nagbabad. Mga nanay nga naman. Notice her shopping cart? Yan ba yung hindi daw mamimili?! Lol!

Saw these donya lighting fixtures. Pagnagka-donya house na kami, I swear may ganyan dapat!

While we were in line sa cashier, ayan, nagsink in na siya. How will we carry all our purchases eh we'll still go malling after this?! Good thing Wowa saw these cute roller type grocery bags. They sell it for $29 each.

Ang galing di ba?! Bigla tuloy kami nagka-instant hand carry maleta!

Wowa and I were very happy! Nagkasya lahat in the two roller bags!

Shopping and going around was easy =)

See? =)
After Ikea, we went to the two malls that I told you about. It's just in front of Ikea. Tatawid lang ako ng overpass which is connecting naman sa 2nd floor ng Ikea. The sports outlet stores naman is right across it. Walking distance lang.

That's it guys! Don't worry, I'll show you the stuff that I bought in SG after all my kwentos =)

Have a nice day!
