Mommy Fleur and Anika at the Crayola Event

Last June, Amspec invited the SoMoms over at Gymboree at Shangrila Edsa Mall for an afternoon full of fun activities for the kids.

Amspec is the maker of T-Pencils and Crayola writing implements. Both have been tested and certified to be absolutely child-friendly and toxin-free. They have been making safe writing products for 50 years.

Importante ito mga muthers.

You know sometimes when we're not looking, the kids put the pencils and crayons inside their mouth? I remember back in the 80s, I found my youngest brother, then 2 years old, eating a whole box of Crayons. Buti na lang Crayola siya. Nakakaloka.

I learned more about Crayola and T-Pencils in that session while the kids were playing.

1. Each AMSPEC product goes through rigorous testing procedures. All raw materials used for T-Pencil ®, from its wood, lacquer, rubber, ferrules or metal parts, and graphite core are tested to ensure the absence of toxic elements.

2. The pigments used in Crayola® products are imported from the US and have passed the European EN 71.3 testing. Even the labels of our crayons are made from non-toxic inks, which are soya inks. The paper is acid-free and bleach-free. Crayons, after all, are chewed by kids.

AHA moment right? At least now we know. We won't panic anymore pagnakita natin ang mga kids na inuulam yung crayons. Chos. But seriously, I'm glad they told me about this. Gusto ko safe always for Anika the things that she uses. Crayola pala yun.

Here are some photos from that event.

Outfit of the day muna naming mag-ina:

Dress: Gingersnaps; Sandals: Saltwater Sandals

Shirt: Giordano; Shorts: Guess?; Sandals: CMG; Bag: Tory Burch
Anika was all smiles while waiting for the activites to start.

Here we are with Chesca of Young. Mom. Love and her adorable baby boy.

The kids were given different kinds of writing stuff.

There's a smell test for the pencils and crayons pala. The T-Pencils should smell like cedar while the Crayolas shouldn't smell like rancid butter or in other words, panis na butter.

Here's Patty of Non Stop Babble with her cutie daughter.

There are a lot of other Amspec kid friendly products. There are So Big and My First crayons that are easier for toddlers and young children to grip. There are also Crayola's washable crayons and washable markers. Anika has those here at home =)

Every after a drawing activity, Teacher Rain of Gymboree asks the kids to gather around her for some interactive activities

Best in participation ang Anika ko.

Spotted also in the event is Belle of Cruisin' Motherhood and her daughter.

Of course Donya Cai of Apples and Dumplings and Paper Chic Studio was there too with her daughter Y.

Here's the bagets showing off the puppet that she made.

Photo op with the SoMoms =)

Thank you so much Amspec and Gymboree for having us!!!
