Aaron & Jan's Fabulous Wedding

Note: I should warn you, I used the word fabulous pretty much often in this entry. No other words kasi is perfect to describe the whole event =)

Last July 18, 2009, our DLSU college barkada, Aaron, married the love of his life, Jan at the St. Therese Church. Alvin and I weren't able to go to the ceremony because of Anika duties. Sa reception na lang kami tumuloy.

The reception was held at the Rizal Ballroom of Shangri La Hotel Makati. When we got there, we queued for the registration. While in line, I was amazed by all the guests' attire! Everybody was looking fabulous! Toddlers, teens, adults and oldies = they all look glamorous! I got super excited tuloy to get inside the ballroom.

Note: I love everything about weddings! The clothes, the food, the decor and the ambience. I thought you should know so that you can understand why I'll be blabbing so much here =)

After we have given our gift at the registration, they gave us our table numbers. When we entrered the ballroom, I was stunned!! It was dressed up super elegantly and fabulously! (Maybe also because Jan is an interior decorator and innately has a talent for creating a beautiful place). My eyes were so hungry taking in all the details. For me ha, parang gusto ko na magpa-autograph sa event stylist nila! Everything matched the fabulous invitation that they gave us. There were two screens at both sides of the ballroom to show the many AVPs that they have prepared.

The food taste divine. It was a sit down dinner and after this and Tiffany's wedding, I became a fan na of sit down dinners. Parang lumalabas it's better than buffet where everyone's up and about. If it's a sit down dinner, organized siya and walang hassle sa guests =) And since it's Shangri La, surely the food's delicious!

Super thanks to Aaron and Jan for inviting us =) Their wedding reflected who they are: fun, fabulous and elegant.

Photos now...

This is our table. The perimeter wall of the ballroom was covered by dark blue cloth. The colors inside the ballroom are dark blue, silver and white. Personally, I love the centerpiece flowers!

Their elegant cake on top of a bed of white roses. Take note of the backdrop, that is the same design they used in their invitations.

The silver white tree. Not only the tree's beautiful, but the set up of the tables around it was kakaiba =) It was so nice!

There were balls of white roses and crystals hanging from the ballroom's ceiling.

The cocktail food outside the ballroom. Notice the blue marshmallows =)

This is what I wore. A dress from miu miu in The Ramp, the shoes from Charles and Keith that I wore to my wedding and Aldo accessories. I have kwento about my dress. I was cramming to find something to wear for this event. I went to Tango and found a dress that was pretty but I wasn't feeling it that much. It cost Php 3,500 and was on sale for Php 1,500. Mura diba? However, thanks to my hubby, I decided to look around more pa. And then I went to The Ramp and found this dress. It was love at first sight. When i checked the price tag, it says Php 895! And when I was paying for it, the cashier said that it was on sale so I only paid Php 495 for it!!! Imagine if i bought that dress in Tango then I found this. Iyak talaga ako! Haha!

This is how I looked like. I had the ends of my hair semi-curled. Thanks to Garod of Toni&Guy who I blogged about here, my haircut was perfect and curls looked nice with it. I applied my own makeup. I was going for the natural look na effortless. Looking at this picture, I should have applied darker lipstick siguro.

We can't stop laughing when we saw this picture. These are my college friends, Mabel and Aileen. We were laughing because this pic looked like it was taken during the 90s when studio pics were sooo in! Hahaha!

The apetizer Smoked Salmon and Grilled Tiger Prawns served with Mesclun Greens and Sesame Aioli. It was delicious. I'm not a fan of salmons but sa sobrang sarap, I finished mine plus I also ate yung kay Mabel Haha!

Wild Mushroom Fusion with Roast Pine Nuts, Sauteed Shitake Mushroms and Prosciutto Ham on Rosemary Cruton. I love mushroom soup and I love this soup served to us even more!

And the special guest was... Ms. Aiza Seguerra!!! Ang ganda ng boses!!! I took a pic na lang of the screen kasi I was dyahe to go in front to take her pic hehehe

Herb Crusted Seabass with Mushroom Risotto Green Asparagus and Silky Lemon Beurre Blanc. I know this was delicious because Mabel, who's very picky with food, loved it. Di ko lang masyadong type because it's fish.

In between serving the main course, we lined up for the photobooth by Baicapture.

When we got back to our tables, we were served Raspberry sorbet alternating with dalandan sorbet. Mabel gave her dalandan sorbet which was really sour but i love it. I tasted her raspberry sorbet and it tastes good too. Sobret is served to wash the tongue's palatte in preparation for the second main dish.

US Beef Tenderloin wiht Creamy Potato Gratin, Garden Vegetables and Mushroom Ragout and Sauce De Vin Rouge. I'm a meat eater and this dish was super sarap! The beef was super tender and was cooked medium well.

Me: Babe, next time sa kasal natin ulit, ganitong decor and set up gusto ko ha?
Alvin: Oo ba..
(maka-oo lang eh no? haha!)

Flourless Dark Chocolate Cake with Mix Berry Campote. I love desserts so biased pagako ang nagcomment kasi for sure I love this. It's Alvin (who doesn't eat sweets) who confirmed that the dish was great. It was dark chocolate kasi eh and it tastes rich and not that sweet so it was perfect.

I grabbed this photo from Jan's facebook account (i hope she doesn't mind!). I had to post this because it's so romantic. In love na in love ang dalawa =)

To Aaron and Jan: Congratulations and Best Wishes. May you have a blissful married life and many many babies! =)
