Jam's 9th Birthday Party

Super quickie post!

My goddaughter Jam, celebrated her 9th birthday last Friday.

Shet. Parang kailan lang, buntis pa lang si Janis. Now, Jam's all grown up! I feel so old!!!

Here's my baby girl with her Ate Gabe (the daughter of Josh and Elaine) and Ate Jam.

Ka ganda ng mga anak namin ano?

Lemme tell you muna saglit about my childhood friends.

We all live in the same village. Except for Janis who I literally grew up with, we all became friends during the start of our high school days: me, Alvin, Janis, Jay, Joshua, Abbey and Alfred.

You guys already know Janis. She's the mom of Jam and the wife of Mark. She owns the online store US Aid. And she's been my friend since our nappy days.

Jay naman, you read about him here. He was one of my guy bestfriends. We had a falling out a few years back and nito lang kami nagkabati ulit. Happy ako that finally we're better now. Not the same as before but at least okay na kami.

Joshua naman is a pilot and my ex-bf turned friend. Wag mag-alala kasi it was a long, long, long time ago kaya hindi awkward ngayon. Everything is okay between us. Walang halong eklaver. For the longest time, Alvin and I have been friends with him and his gorgeous fiance, Elaine.

Alfred and Abbey are Alvin's bestfriends. Alfred's already based in Australia with his wife. Abbey's an engineer naman here in Manila and we get to see him every now and then.

This is us (with our better halves) minus Alfred and Abbey:

Ang dami na naming pinagdaanan ng mga yan. I swear, this is one crazy bunch. When I mean crazy, you should hear the stories that we re-tell when we're all together. Masisiraan ka talaga ng bait. Ang kulay!

Hay. Anyways, let's go back to Jam's party.

It was an intimate one because Jam just wanted to invite only her closest friends. I like this kind of party. The kids were so cute doing videoke and playing guessing games. Nakakatuwa ang mga bata. Mabilis makuntento sa mga simpleng bagay. I was so happy because Jam considers Anika to be a close friend despite the 6 year gap.

Bonggels ang giveaway ni Ninang Janis sa mga kids.

While the girls were singing, Anika kept on hogging the mike from her Ate Jam and Ate Gabe. Manang mana talaga sa pinagmanahan! Lol!

I notice abala ang Janis sa kitchen. Biglang naglabas ang lola niyo ng boxes and boxes of J.Co donuts!

Nanlaki mga mata ko!

ME: Mare, hindi pa ba tayo kakain?! Hihihi!

This is Jam's birthday cake.. er... donuts.

I remember when I was young, us kids were inside the house playing family computer while the grown ups were outside talking and drinking. I have always wondered ano ginagawa nung mga mashoshonda sa labas at nakakatagal sila ng usap lang na usap while the kids were having fun inside.

When I became a mommy, I finally get it. Hehehe.

Ganyan na ganyan ang scenario sa mga kiddie parties.

In almost all get togethers, we just reminisce yung mga kalokohan namin when we were younger. Mamamatay ka talaga sa kakatawa. I dunno ha? Paulit ulit lang naman the stories but they're still super funny kahit ilang beses mo na narinig.

Sometimes also may mga ganito:

ALVIN: Magingat kayo ngayon sa Kawasaki virus. Meron na daw dito sa Manila. Nakakamatay yun.

ME: May breakout na ba Babe?

JOSHUA (with full confidence): Hahaha! Anong breakout?! Ano yan karera?!

ALVIN: 'Pre, breakaway yun.

Bwahahahaha!

Thank you so much Jam for inviting us!

Happy, happy birthday to you! We love you!!!!!
