Warning: Please Be Careful

It was Arnaiz's bridal shower today. Pineda picked me up at home and we went to Arnaiz's cousin's house in Merville. Dun yung spa party-slash-bridal shower niya. Right after we finished decorating the place, Janis called me. Somebody broke in their house and got all their things. Janis was so upset so I decided to leave the bridal shower to go to their house. Arnaiz and Pineda understood naman.

 

Alvin picked me up and when we got to there, inabutan ko my 7 year old goddaughter crying. Kawawa because she was so traumatized with what happened. The robber went inside house through the back door. Sinira niya yung door. He got everything that he could carry. As in sinimot. Ipads, laptops, money, jewelries, shoes etc. The robbery happened when Janis and her family were having lunch in MOA. There was nobody home kaninang lunch time.

I remember in 2001, we were living with Wowa in Manila. A guy pretended to be Wowa's cousin and demanded our maid to let him in. Walang tao sa house, yung maid lang. The man was shouting at the maid. He was telling her na isusumbong niya daw siya kay Wowa pagdi siya pinapasok. So the maid let him in. While he was inside the house, he was pretending to talk to Wowa on the phone. He asked the maid to buy him a bottle of Coke. Pagbalik ng maid, wala na yung guy. Wowa's bedroom door was locked. When I arrived home from my OJT, the maid told me about it. She said that she locked the bedroom door before she went out to buy the softdrink. When Wowa arrived and had the bedroom door forced open, we found all her jewelry boxes on the bed. 

Empty.

The maid lied.

Nanlata talaga ako nun. I was crying so hard. Pero ang Wowa, wala. Deadma. She was only thankful that that the robber wasn't there anymore when we arrived. Ako umiiyak because ako ang tanging taga-pagmana ng mga jewelries ni Wowa. Wala lahat. Simot.

The police wanted to get na the maid para ikulong pero na-awa si Wowa. She didn't think that the maid had anything to do with the robbery. Tatanga-tanga lang talaga and she got scared of Wowa kaya she lied.

After two weeks, while I was at my OJT, I was calling our house to tell the maid that LT and Faye will be going to our house to get the money for Noel's tuition. Tinago ko yun with my clothes sa kasulok-sulukan ng closet ko. It was weird because nobody was answering the landline. The other landline naman (dahil fax phone siya), may pumipindot ng fax tone. I called Wowa to tell her about it. Wowa went home. She called me. Ninakawan na naman daw kami. This time they got all my jewelry and clothes, Toots' things and some appliances including our new TV. 

When I got home, nakakapanglata na talaga ng sobra. Ang gulo gulo ng bahay! Everything was a mess! Drawers were pulled open, all the closets were opened and the furniture and appliances were not in their proper places. Even our refrigerator was already near the main door. May balak pa talagang bitbitin! The bed mattresses were thrown on the floor. My clothes were on the floor too. Nakalamang lang ako ng konti because they didn't see the 30k pesos that I hid dun sa dulo ng closet ko. Pero the rest of our things, wala na.

It turned out that the maid left after we all have left for work and school. She left the gate open. According to our neighbor, a truck arrived and saw people coming in and out of the house, loading the truck with our stuff. He thought na maglilipat bahay na daw kami. Wala naman ni-isa sa amin dun so I have no idea why he wasn't alarmed. 

The experience was so scary. Hindi yung dun sa mga gamit eh. It was the thought that there were strangers that were inside our house and room! Nakakapraning talaga. Traumatic. Eto pa pala, the robbers left human waste sa rug outside our bathroom. Ang bastos lang di ba? 

Grabe talaga.

Kaya I can just imagine what Janis and her family are feeling right now. Magpapasalamat ka na lang nobody got hurt. 

Yes, the three incident were reported to the police. Yung sa amin, walang nangyari. I hope with Janis' case, they would catch the thief. 

THIS JUST GOT IN....

We were just told that almost all the cars that were parked on our street, ninakawan ng side mirror last night. On a normal night, I park my car sa street in front of our house. Tamad kasi ako magpark sa garage. Pero last night, Alvin's car was at my in-laws kaya pinasok ko kotse ko sa garage. If I didn't do that pala, wala na ring side mirror kotse ko ngayon.

Lekat na yan.

Magpapasukan na kasi eh. Kailangan ng mga tao ng pang-tuition.

But that's not it eh. Anong ginagawa ng mga tao sa baranggay namin?! Di ba kaka-election lang?!

Kamoteng tunay.

Nevertheless guys, may this serve as a lesson for you to take extra care sa safety sa house niyo. Put CCTVs, extra locks and educate your househelps and members of the family on what to do. Maglock lagi sa house.
