Anika Says the Darnest Things

I do owe you a lot of blog posts. Ang dalang ko na magpost ng entries nowadays ano? I wish I have more time in my hands. I wish I have extra at least three hours a day just so I can blog. But let's not dwell on that. I get at least one email a day from you guys telling me that you love going over here because of all the positive vibes.

I-meyteyn natin yang light feeling here =)

How about some Anika stories instead?

Anika's growing up to be very smart, funny and well, kikay. People around her don't get surprised anymore, ako nga kasi ang nanay di ba? But when people hear her talk, they get surprised because she has an American accent. I don't notice it anymore because maybe am used to hear her speaking that way. Pero the others, natutuwa sila. Don't look at me, I don't talk that way. Kung bakla pa magsalita yan, ako na talaga sisihin niyo agad agad pero the American accent? Hindi siguro ako yun. I blame Disney Junior. It's okay though. She sound really cute when she's speaking.

Anyways, one evening, we were playing pretend animals.

ANIKA: Cow!

ME: Mooooo!

ANIKA: Cat!

ME: Meow!!!

ANIKA: Frog!

ME: Kokak!

ANIKA: Nooooo!!!!

ME: Kokak yun anak.

ANIKA: No! It's RIBBIT!

Hanep. Ribbit. Ang soshal.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While I was dressing up for an event,

ANIKA: Nanay what is that?

ME: It's a bra, anak.

ANIKA: What is it for?

ME: It's for my boobies.

ANIKA: Can I wear it too?

ME: No. Only mommies with big boobies can wear them.

ANIKA: But you don't have big boobies Nanay! You're joking me!

Hanep. Prangka.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ANIKA: What are you doing Nanay?

ME: Fixing my make up.

ANIKA: Why?

ME: Ummmm.. Because there's a lot of umm...

I was supposed to say, extra liquid foundation on my face..

ANIKA: Pimples? You have a lot of pimples?

Hanep. Thanks ha.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were at a bookstore one day. Anika saw a pencil case. She went to her Tatay.

ANIKA: Tatay, can I buy this?

ALVIN: Okay.

Anika walked away with a smirk on her face.

ANIKA: Yesss! Good job Anika!

Hanep. May ganun?!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anika was in our living room while I was making kalkal something at my "sari-sari store" by the kitchen.

ANIKA: Nanay!

ME: Wait anak.

ANIKA: Nanay!

ME: Wait anak.

ANIKA: Nanay! Here boy!

Hanep talaga. Aso lang ang peg.

=)

Lemme share with you some photos we took the other weekend during Anika's swimming lessons. Have I shared these already? I forgot na.

I love that photo of Zac and Anika!

I-caption this natin yan!

Here's mine:

ZAC: Anika, anong klaseng posing naman yan?!

ANIKA: Ano ba?! Picture daw sabi ng mommy mo eh.

Lol!

Do you guys wanna try? =)

  1. Hahahaha! Tawang-tawa ko sa inglisan ni Anika, ganyan na ganyan ang bagets. Ngayon nga lang may halong Tagalog na kaya tunog kolehiyala. Like, "Nanay, don't close the pinto ha, I'm scared." At teh, maka-big boobies naman daw kasi. Honest ang mga bagets! Hahaha! Ako naman lagi sasabihan sa stretchmarks ko ng "What's that, Nay? It's disgusting!" :)

The way you write your blog is so funny, "baklang-bakla" :-) And your stories RE your experiences and your family are very entertaining. Keep it up! Kasi everytime I need comic relief, I know which page to open, yours. :-)
