I had Havi when he was just 2 months old, early in 2008. Hindi pa kami ni Alvin nun. Landian pa lang. I told him that I am torn between getting a Shih Tzu and a PSP. Parang ang fasyon kasi dati if you walk in Bonifacio High Street with a uber cute dog and your fasyon outfit eh. And OO a Portable Sony Playstation. I was dying to own one. I want to play Mario Brothers in it, the only computer game I know.
Alvin advised me to get a dog instead. So without knowing what lies before me, I got Havi from one of my friends in Bulacan who breeds Shih Tzus. I was never prepared for the next event! Nakakaloka pala magalaga ng dog!! It's so expensive because of all the vaccines, maintenance, food and all the accessories they need! Lagi ka pang panic mode because sometimes they throw up or sometimes ang tamlay nila or sometimes laging may LBM! I almost got in an accident because Havi made tae in the front seat while I was driving and it grossed me out! Ang kiti kiti pa! Habol dito. Saway dun.
But you know, it was with Havi where I learned about unconditional love. Hirap na hirap ako sa kanya nun, but I still love him so much. Me and my family treated him as our baby. Spoiled to the max yan mga teh.
And then, two years after that, Anika was born. It broke my heart because Alvin said that we cannot have Havi in our house. Keso baka kagatin si Anika or it might trigger Anika's asthma. I begged Alvin for us to keep Havi but he stood his ground. Can I take it daw ba if may mangyari kay Anika? No, I cannot. So I looked for a place where to give Havi away. Maiyak iyak talaga ako. Good thing, Alvin's fab cousin, Katie offered to adopt Havi. Dyosme. I was so thankful!
And so we lived with our new baby. As Anika grew older, I realized there are a lot of common things when I was taking care of Havi before she was born. I will just copy paste what I felt during the time when I had Havi because halos parehas lang talaga.

The only difference here is that the love I felt with Anika is not only unconditional, it was something else. I dunno the right words how to describe it but it was definitely something else. Something a lot greater than unconditional love, kung meron nga bang mas hihigit pa dun.
I am thankful Alvin suggested that I get Havi instead of a PSP. I learned a lot while taking care of Havi that applies to Anika. Patience, selflessness, mother's instinct etc.
Fast forward to the present time, I am happy to announce that Havi is back to living with us. We are just strict in instructing Girlie not to let Anika near Havi by herself. Ingat palagi. It's sweet because whenever Anika walks out of our gate, Havi follows her. Parang nagbabantay.
Oh, and my two babies go walking together too =)
Havi's kalbo. I had his hair shaved para wag mainitan last summer =) Now he looks like an azkal =) But a very very cute one. ANIKA: Havi, where are we going? |
HAVI: Here Anika, towards the camera |
HAVI: Tara Anika. Let's go here. |
But who's walking who nga ba? =)
