Last Saturday, October 9, 2010, we celebrated Anika's 6th month birthday. Since our little darling has been existing in this world for half a year now, I decided to go OA (over acting) sa cake.
Got Anika's cake from Red Ribbon. It had boiled icing (which I found really weird kasi I got used na with fondant) but it was really really pretty. It had two layers where the bottom part's an edible chocolate cake while the upper part's just styro with icing.
The handa was simple lang. The usual: pancit, bread with cheese pimiento, coke and cake.
Anika's guests were:
Her super cute cousin Gabo (son of Alvin's brother, Paul).
Matthew, Alvin's cousin.
I made a mistake of forcing Anika to wake up from her afternoon nap. She became super grouchy tuloy. Anyways, we let her meet her cousin Gabo for the first time.
She wasn't so happy having all these people around her at first.
And then warmed up a little with her cousin. See them holding hands? =)
Super cute no?
The well wishers were: Paul (the one carrying Anika), Katie (Anika & Gabo's christening godparent), Tin (Paul's wife), Alvin's mom and Matthew. Ninang Faye passed by but had to leave early because she had free tickets to the Sleeping Beauty play in Greenbelt.
Then came the cake blowing time. Anika had to destroy a part of her cake first.
When we lit up the candles, Anika got overwhelmed and cried. I blame myself for her grouchy mood ofcourse! Bad nanay! hmp!
While the guests ate, Anika interacted with her cousin. Sorry, masungit ang face ng birthday celebrant namin. hehehe.. Hindi sanay sa crowd. We HAVE to take her around people more often. Seriously.
For Anika's milestones, our baby girl can do a lot of things already this month:
She can sit by herself.
Laugh out loud (especially when she wakes up in the wee hours of the morning)
Make brrrrr.. brrrr.. sound with matching talsik laway.
She can pull herself up when laid down and offered the hand.
She can hold her milk bottle while drinking.
She chooses already who she wants to be carried by. (she chooses always her Tatay)
She can sleep at night without being rocked in my or Girlie's arms.
She can imitate sounds.
She smiles back when you smile at her (if she's in the mood ha?).
She can turn to her tummy by herself but can turn back to her back yet hehe.
To Anika:
Happy 6th month birthday baby girl! You cannot imagine how your Tatay and I enjoy you these past few weeks. You interact a lot with us already. We love seeing you laugh and we don't mind being woken up at 3am because your voice and laugh is so loud. I wanna share something anak. The other day, it was just you, me and your tatay in the room. We were playing with you and you kept on laughing / gurgling. You kept on touching our faces with your small chubby hands. I was thinking that whole time na nothing can be more perfect than that. Everything that mattered to me was on that bed. I thank the high heavens because they sent you and Tatay to me =) I love you.
