What To Do With Anika?!

Last month, I was bothered because they said that during the fourth month, babies will turn to their tummies already by themselves. I was making bantay Anika and she already did it once. Never na na-ulit. So I practiced and practiced her until I let go na. I thought baka derechong tatayo na lang siya someday. Choz!

Anyways, just two days before her fifth month birthday, Girlie told us that Anika kept on rolling and rolling to her tummy. I was so happy and saw that she can roll na nga by herself.

Presently however, I'm getting worried na naman. She keeps on rolling to her tummy every freaking time!!! When she's playing during the day, while Girlie sponge baths her before she sleeps and worst, while she sleeps.

I didn't get to sleep well last night because every time I wake up she's like this:

And then I turn her to her back and go back to sleep. I wake up again and ganyan na naman! I'm so scared she might suffocate herself! I am contemplating the following solutions: a.) pabantayan ko kay Girlie every night (bigyan ko na lang siya ng bonus or something) but she might report me na to DOLE or b.) i-masking tape ko si Anika sa bed kaso parang di ata type ni Alvin yung suggestion ko na yun because when I told him, tinalikuran ako ng lolo niyo or c.) put plenty of pillows on her side and just pray to God to delegate all the available Guardian Angels in Heaven to be with Anika during the night.

Do you have other ideas mommies out there?!

  1. i suggest not to put pillows, blankets or anything beside her that might cover her face. make sure the bed sheet is tight not to loosen and cover her face accidentally. she won't fall naman since she's sleeping in her crib. tignan tignan mo nalang once in a while pag natutulog kayo to check if she's okay.

i hope this helps. that's what i did w/ julisha before kasi.

  2. sa suggestion A mo, sa DOLE ka susumbong. Sa sauggestion B mo: sa BAMTAY BATA naman. :P LOL!!!! DOn't put pillows, baka lalong ma-suffocate. beatriz always sleeps on her tummy...which helped a lot kasi hdi siya kinakabag. she's okay naman now. just make sure nakikita lang sya ni girlie every so often at night. :)

  3. hi! use a wearable blanket if you like. yung style nya and weight will keep anika from rolling over for the time being. kaya lang if free yung arms nya, makakaikot talaga sya paminsan, that's okay as long as there are no pillows, stuffed toys, and other blankets in her crib. :)

  4. @Norie: Thanks norie. Will do that =D

@Bing: Diba?! hahaha! Part of motherhood ang pagiging praning so i guess i have to accept the face na gigising talaga ako lagi in the middle of the night to check.

@Sherry: Hi she! onga no? i hope they have that here in Manila. And we'll definitely take out her toys from her crib! thanks so much!
