Our iloilo vacation was one of the best out of town trips we've had. It pays kasi that we didn't have any expectations on that trip. I booked the flight via Cebu Pacific because it had one of the cheapest fare that time. I went online and looked for a nice but cheap hotel.
And so here's the first of the three part kwento (and reviews) of our Iloilo trip.
Saturday morning. We were at the check-in counter at 3:30 am for our 4:45 am flight. I got the earliest flight because we were staying in Iloilo for just an overnight stay. Need to maximize the trip no! =) Our ticket were priced at Php 3,600. That is already a two way ticket for the both of us. Cheap diba?
We arrived in Iloilo at 5:45 am. Their new airport is so nice! It's located nga lang outside the city which was a more or less 30 minute drive. And so we got our things and went out and got a taxi. The taxi peope said they were metered pero they haggled for a Php 300 fare to a trip to the city. I went around and concluded that everybody charges 300 pesos so we agreed.
In the trip, Alvin got the number of manong the taxi driver. He offered to tour us around Iloilo for PHp 1,800 (gas excluded) for the whole day of Sunday. We said we'd just text him that night to confirm (we had to ask around kung tinataga kami sa price noh!).
We arrived at the Sarabia Manor Hotel at around 630 am. I booked this hotel because it's located in the city, the website showed beautiful rooms and it's affordable. Our overnight stay costs Php 2,100 inclusive of breakfast for two. The lobby was pretty and the people were friendly. The lobby has free wifi which was a plus for me!
Here I am waiting for our room. I forgot my contact lenses hence my lola look. Behind me is Sarabia Manor's restaurant where they serve the breakfast buffet.
The receptionist informed us that our room will be available at 9 am pa so we went around the hotel first. Here's their mini olympic size swimming pool. We were seated in the cafe beside the pool. The hotel also has a convention center, restaurants and a massage place.
I was already starving so we decided to eat na lang ala carte sa hotel restaurant.
Expensive the prices ha.
Alvin liked his arroz caldo though.
Me, I didn't like my bread basket that much. Php 155 siya eh tapos eto lang?
Anyways, after that we went up na to our room. It didn't disappoint (that much). We had two beds, a TV with cable and a ref. We also had a giant window with a brick wall for a view. Sheeeesh.
The bathroom was nice. I am very particular of the bathrooms of the hotels we stay in. I'm a bathroom person eh =)
After washing up, we prepared for our trip to Guimaras. At the hotel reception desk, Alvin purchased a map of Guimaras. The concierge taught us how to get there and which places we can go to. Although there was a tourist center there, we wanted to make sure we know na something when we inquire (places to go and prices).
Part Two of our Iloilo Trip, coming up!
