I've been waiting for our electricity bill. I was expecting it to arrive last week pero it only arrived the other day. I know everyone's complaining about it so I was so curious magkano na kuryente namin. Here it is:
I am one of those people who are irked with what's happening regarding the Meralco rates. When I was still pregnant (which was 6 months ago), our electricity bill was only 2,000 pesos. Mind you, we live in a tiny apartment, around 50 square meters in area all in all. We have the same electricity bill amount with Noel & Faye who lives in our family house which has an area of more or less 200 square meters. We both use one air conditioning unit however, ours ran for almost 12 hours a day. Understandable.
However, come April this year, I was surprised when our bill went up to Php 5,000. Anika was already born that time and our air conditioning unit was running for 24 hours a day. Meralco said they will be increasing their rates blah blah blah. So understandable.
But, by June, I almost fainted when I saw our electricity bill was Php 9,000!!! OMFG!!! Gusto kong maglupasay!! We live in a tiny apartment, with four and a half occupants, with one air conditioning unit. The only appliance that was added was Anika's Chicco Bottle Sterilizer! We don't even have a freaking washing machine!!!
I have a feeling that there's something wrong sa pagcompute ng energy consumption. I wanna do what my mommy friend, Mothering Earthlings did however I don't have the energy to compare all the bills.
To lower the cost, we tried making tipid especially the aircon. We only use the ACU for 12 hours na lang. During 10am to 4pm for Anika and 7pm to 1am so that we could sleep comfortably. I became sensitive with closing all the lights that are not being used.
So the result is:
Our bill now is almost Php 6,500 na lang. But, I'm definitely not happy yet. Masyadong maliit ang bahay ko para sa ganyan ka laking kuryente bill. Bawas na nga ang pang shopping naming magina, mababawasan pa?! I am so hating Meralco sobra.
I'm telling Alvin that we change our air conditioning unit to something with a lesser hp. He's thinking about it kasi baka hindi na naman lumamig yung room diba?
Ohhh man, I miss those times when we were still living at our parents house. Pang-shopping lang ang problema!
mare, use the right hp cause if you lower it down, correct me if im wrong.. the tendency is aandar ng aandar ung compressor kung mababa yun hp so ganun din :) pero if tama yun hp then magautomatic sya.. :) pero i think malaki nga sya cause kila jr its almost 9k pero mas maraming nakatira..may washing machine and more than 1 aircon..and then 24hours may tao..
