A Secret Affair

I was browsing my favorite blog, Chuvaness, when I read about A Secret Affair, the new movie of Derek Ramsey and Anne Curtis. Mala-No Other Woman ang feel pero this time boyfriend-girlfriend relationship ang scenario. Anne and Derek plays an engaged couple while Andi Eigenmann is the mang-aagaw. Jacklyn Jose plays the mother of Anne, who has a philandering husband. Jackie Lou Blanco naman plays the mother of Andi.

Here's the trailer below:

Mukhang maganda mga mudrabelles!!!!

I love Jacklyn Jose talaga. She's just right for the role!

"Bakit kasi may ibang babae na papatol sa lalaki kahit na alam naman nilang hindi pwede?!"

"Kaya kabit ang tawag sa kanila kasi daig pa nila ang epoxy kung kumabit! Kaya querida, kasi mga kiri! Kaya mistress, kasi nakakaSTRESS!"

Did you see Jacklyn Jose's face when she's saying that?! Hilarious!

I'm watching this movie!

That Ten Minutes That I Love

These past few days have been hectic. Wala pa yan sa half ng pagdadaanan ko in the coming weeks. I get through each day because I look forward to coming home to this little cutie patootie each night. I come rushing home para maabutan kong gising. However, most of the time, luck's not on my side. Either groggy na siya sa antok or worse, tulog na =c I miss my little princess so much.

I thank God that we have 10 minutes every morning to spend time. This is the best ten minutes of my day, everyday =)

I love you Anika Summer. We'll be going to a fantastic birthday party tomorrow! Babawi si Nanay sayo =)

Random Ramblings Thursdday

Guys, I can't feel my legs.

Nor my arms.

Nor my back.

Toots was right. My body will ache two days after my boxing churvaloo. I need to go boxing again later so my body could get over this. Parang volleyball varsity days lang. I hated the first two trainings after summer. It's when my body aches ng sobra sobra but we need to still rigorously train pa din. The next day, the body ache disappears. Coolness.

Anyways, Toots texted me if I was going boxing today. I replied with a yes. Ang tagal niya magreply back. He can't believe it siguro that I'll be coming back after my first session. Hahaha!

I like boxing kaya! It helps release stress. Nakakapayat pa! *apir!*

This morning, Anika was making lambing. She woke up and wanted me to carry her while I go in and out the rooms of our house to pick clothes. Kahit na nagmumura sa sakit mga muscles ko, I carried her. I do not like missing opportunities like these when Anika wants to make lambing to me. Sinusulit ko yan.

After I got ready for work, Anika pulled my hand towards the door. She was carrying her sunglasses in her other hand.

ANIKA: Nanay, lesgow! Picture outside!

Ang cute!

Sorry, wala pa akong make up diyan =p

Anika has been like this na daw often. After getting dressed, she will tell Jekjek to get her Tatay's camera and drag her outside so that Jekjek can take her outfit of the day photos.

Anak nga siya ng nanay niya =)

Children's Hour Presents: Ang Bagong Harana

I've always had a soft spot for kids. My heart breaks when I see malnourished kids that can't afford to eat, kids who are sick, kids who badly wants to go to school but can't and kids who do not have anybody who looks after them. I feel that it's really unfair that those unfortunate things are happening to them at that age. They do not deserve to experience mga ganyang hirap that young. Since I do not have the resources (yet!) na mag-ala Angelina Jolie at mag-ampon ng mga poor kids, I try na lang to help in anyway I can...

Like supporting the projects of Children's Hour.

From their website:

Children’s Hour is a non-profit, fundraising, fund-giving, and friends-raising organization that aims to provide marginalized Filipino children with a better life; giving them better access to quality education, quality health and nutrition and a quality way of life. We do this primarily by asking individuals, employees, organizations and corporations to donate the minimum one hour’s worth of salaries or earnings at least once a year. Since 1999, Children’s Hour has been built on the promise that the one hour contributions of our donors and friends can bring sustainable change and transform the life of a child in need. The simple and unique fundraising scheme that we employ is proven successful as manifested by the number of underprivileged Filipino children that we have helped since our inception.

Victor Platon, one of my good friends from way, way back called me yesterday. He's been working for Children's Hour for the longest time now, something I have truly admired in him. Siya yung fabulously dressed na guy na laging katabi nina Mr. Zobel de Ayala, Aquino sisters at kung sino sino pang VIPs who are present in the Children's Hour events. He's very active in promoting and marketing how people can donate and help Children's Hour. One time, I will introduce him to you guys, you'll love him too! =)

Anyways, he was telling me about this musical show that Children's Hour is doing in October in celebration of the Children's Month.

"Ang Bagong Harana" is a musical show where you get a taste of Filipino music and teach today's kids how to Pen Pen de Sarapen =) Sa mga chuchal diyan, Pen Pen de Sarapen is a traditional Filipino game that involves your playmate trying to catch your finger while you both sing. I want Anika to learn this. Hindi puros Ipad and video games lang lagi.

"Ang Bagong Harana" is directed by award-winning director Floy Quintos, and features the Philippine Opera company with the Ramon Obusan Folkloric group doing an all-Filipino songlist -- from children's ditties to tribal chants, to the kundimans and showstoppers of Sylvia La Torre, to the more contemporary music of the 3 Cs - Cruz, Canseco, and Cayabyab.

The show will be on October 21 and proceeds will go Children's Hour projects that will ensure keeping some disadvantaged children in school.

Ticket prices:

Seat                                       SRP                        Special Price
Orchestra Center                  P2,000                         P1,800
Orchesta Side                       P1,500                         P1,300
Loge                                     P1,250                         P1,100
Balcony                                P750                            P650

Children's hour can offer discounted rates for students, parents and teachers. They can also offer tax-breaks for corporate block-buying. =)

Looks like a fantastic show, isn't it? The best part there is that you'd get to watch this really nice show PLUS you get to help pa the projects of Children's Hour.

I'm definitely watching! I'll see you guys there? =)

Join Us at the Babypalooza Bazaar

I seriously have a lot of pre-loved clothes. These are the clothes back then when I still had a waist. Sadly, they all don't fit me anymore. Lol!

And kung marami akong damit, you should see Anika's pre-loved clothes. She has a lot. First child eh, unang apo pa, so you can just imagine how excited everyone was in buying clothes and stuff for her. And since babies and toddlers grow up pretty fast, these clothes do not fit Anika anymore =c Some of her things, she doesn't use na din. Sayang.

We already sent some of them to volunteer centers nung mga past bagyo. There are still some with me kasi I have been looking for a bazaar where I can sell our pre-loved things. You know, para naman hindi puros gastos ang nagagawa ko =)

Enter Kat of the online shop Primigravida. She's currently organizing this year's Babypalooza 2012 Bazaar!

Babypalooza is a baby, toddler and maternity bazaar. This bazaar focuses on items and services for parents, babies and toddlers. It is the FIRST EVER OF ITS KIND in the Philippines in that it features mostly moms selling both PRELOVED and BRAND NEW items from widely trusted local and imported brands. Items from Phillips Avent, Vulli (Sophie the Giraffe), Carter’s, Dr. Brown, Human Heart Nature and tons of other well-known brands will be sold on-site at negotiable, parent-friendly prices. It will be held on November 30, 2012 at the Walter Hogan Conference Center, ISO, Ateneo de Manila University, QC campus.

I will be one of the vendors!!!!

Along with Cai of Apples and Dumplings who has a table beside mine, I will be selling my dalaga clothes, some of my maternity clothes, Anika's pre-loved clothes and things, Wowa's pre-loved clothes and bags and kung ano ano pa! Everything will be really inexpensive!!

But the truly BEST part here is that I will get to meet you guys!!! Woohooo!!!

I do hope you guys can come. Kahit hindi kayo bumili, okay lang. Chikahan na lang tayo. Lol!

For the other mommy bloggers out there, you can be a vendor too and register now!

For more information, you can go to their website: http://babypalooza.com.ph/

Hope to see you guys there!!!

Sombero Sitcom: Ang Muling Pagbalik

One afternoon, Girlie was making Anika drink her vitamins. Since I was there, Anika made arte atre.

ANIKA: Noooo!! I don't like vatamins!

Na-speechless ako for a second pero nothing could prepare me for what came next.

ANIKA: O-Eh-Kah! O-Eh-Kah Ate Girwie!

OA ka daw, Girlie sabi ng two year old.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Wowa bought Noel a new car two weeks ago.

ME: What color did he pick?

WOWA: I don't know. Basta ang available lang dun, brown or black.

ME: Paano yung brown.

Then we passed a parked car.

WOWA: Ayan. Yan. Yan. Ganyan pero hindi ganyan.

Anlabo =)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

ME: Babe alam mo hindi maganda yung inom ng inom. Nakakabawas sa buhay mo yan. Papangit ka pa. Bahala ka, mababaog ka.

ALVIN: You're fooling me. You're fooling my leg.

=) Asawa ko yan!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I dunno if I already told you guys but Alvin is now an Instagram addict. He Instagrams anything and everything.

One day,

ME: Malamang. Lahat yata ng artista finallow mo eh! Ikaw ang showbiz!

ALVIN: Ah. Akala ko sila ang nagfafollow sa akin.

Ay. Sino ba ang nagturo dito?!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Girlie was telling us about Anika's new classmate. She's a girl and she dresses well. Model daw kasi ang mommy niya.

ME: Naku Babe, let's buy Anika new clothes!

ALVIN: Model yung nanay?! Ano ulit oras pasok ni Anika? (smiles)

Binatukan ko nga.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Wowa is looking for a place where we can spend Christmas in Tagaytay. She found this log cabin and she wants us to check it out.

ME: San malapit yung place na yun, Ma?

ME: Bag Ma. Bag of Beans.

WOWA: Yun nga!

Enjoy your day everyone!!!

Weekend OOTD plus Boxing Kwentos

Good morning mudrabelles!!

Guess what?!

Finally, I relented to my brother, Toots', nagging to take up boxing!!!

Ganito kasi yun. You guys  know naman how saklap Toots' love story ended up. He was depressed for months. He was so thin, lanky and talaga namang hindi mo na mahanap ang self esteem niya. One day, his friend took him boxing. Ayun, na-hook talaga ang lolo mo! He started boxing every day. He ate right and exercised. Aba, one Sunday, I noticed ANG GANDA GANDA NA NG KATAWAN NIYA! He looked so good in fact, this is the the best shape that I've ever seen him in! He had muscles in the right place. He had broad shoulders na. He looked happier and more relaxed. At ayun, his self confidence returned. Poging pogi talaga ang peg.

TOOTS: Ate, sige na magboxing ka na. Ang taba mo eh!

Supportive di ba?

While some of you may think I'm not fat naman, in the the eyes of my family, ang juba juba ko. I have been thin all my life. I weighed 100 to 105 pounds. Now kasi I weigh a whopping 118 pounds and I'm just 4 feet 11 and 1/4 inches. They're not used to seeing me not thin.

Anyways finally, after work yesterday, I hauled my big ass to this boxing gym at Salcedo Village in Makati. I paid the trial fee of Php 250. While waiting for Toots to arrive, I watched people in the Muay Thai class. Grabe, exage yung class na yun! They were kicking things bigger than them. Ouch talaga! Napagod na ako by just watching them. Good. Ilang calories na kaya ang nawala ko by just doing that? Haha! Anyways, I am scratching that Muay Thai class. Hindi ko keri I swear.

And then I continued to watch other people who were boxing. Nakakatakot. Intense na intense ang kanilang workout. I thought to myself, "Ah ganiyan pala dapat ang mga outfits ng girls when boxing. I need to buy those too!".

I was about to go home na lang and call Toots that I'll just go back when I am wearing the right outfit, ayun dumating na kapatid ko.

Ang malas ko naman.

Toots endorsed me to his trainor -- a 6 feet man called Lino and who the regulars there fondly call Kapre. I understand immediately why they call him that. But eventually, I discovered that he's the nicest Kapre ever. Not that I've already met a Kapre. He was seriously very patient with me. I like him!

So for one hour and a half: I did stretching, spent 3 minutes with a jumping rope (which I seriously have to practice), learned how to jab and box straight (this was really exhausting! 3 sets of 3 minutes is no joke!), learned to use that thing you box with garter from floor to ceiling (double end bag), learned how that small thing that hangs on the ceiling that I see Pacquaio often uses when he trains (speed bag pala tawag dun) and I did forty reps of sits ups (I knoowww, I'm so proud!)

Over all, I had a great experience. I was perspiring sobra! It felt so great! While watching Toots do the sparring boxing churva with Lino, I was amazed. He looked so cool doing it! Machong macho! No wonder he finally got over whatshername. Boxing is a great outlet for that!

On a completely different topic, touched na touched din ako with Toots.

TOOTS (to Lino while I was doing the sparring thing): Marunong ano? May suntok siya.

TOOTS (to Lino): Athlete kasi yang Ate ko. Volleyball player yan.

TOOTS (to Lino while I was doing situps): Uy lagpas na ng 15. Baka mamya hindi na maka-drive yan pauwi.

TOOTS (while I was doing sit ups): Kaya mo pa? Kung hindi mo kaya okay lang.

Eto pa, while I was using the double end bag on the other side of the room, he shouted,

TOOTS: Ate! Walang masakit sayo!? Walang sumasakit sa katawan mo ngayon?

Wala, lekat nakakahiya hahaha!. Stage brother di ba!? =) I so love him!

Judging by my brother's surprised/amazed reaction and comments, I guess I did well that day.

I'm definitely enrolling there. I seriously need the exercise to go back to my pre-motherhood body. Plus, exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy! Happy happy lang tayo lahat! =)

Anyways, for the outfit of the day, lemme show you what we wore when we left for Sofitel last weekend.

Anika's hair was c/o her Tatay =)

As usual, Anika wanted to be with me in all the photos.

I like this The Doors shirt. I have no idea who they are though.

ALVIN: Bilhin mo yan Babe. Astig kaya ang The Doors.

Fine.

He bought a The Doors shirt also para matching kami =)

Have a great day everyone!!!

Stress Is Only In The Mind

Gusto kong titigan etong anak ko the whole day today. Anika relaxes me kasi eh.

Bakit kamo ako stressed?

September is ending this Sunday and I am actually dreading October and November. Nakafull force ang positive vibes ko in preparation for this month.

I'm not scared of these two months because of Halloween. Well, partly yes. Duwag kasi ako sa multo eh. I feel that October 31st is the only time ghosts and monsters are allowed to roam on Earth and scare people. But that's another blog entry.

I'm scared of October and November because of the anticipation of ngaragness it will bring me. As you all know, we will be leaving for Europe on the last week of October. Two days before our flight, I have to present my department's Year-End Report to the company's top executives. This only means one thing. Ang stress levels ko ay PAK na PAK in the next three weeks.

In the next three weeks I also have a ManCom presentation of my monthly report. I have yet to buy thermal suits for us three. I have to look for souvenirs for my dad's grand 60th birthday party in Amsterdam. 1950s daw ang party theme. I have to look for costumes for the pamilya Sombrero. LT HELP US!!! Anika has this big production number in school on the 19th. It's Toots' birthday on the 10th. Plus, we seriously have to have our house blessed already.

I'm not that busy ano? But it's not over yet!

When we arrive on November, three days after, I have to go and attend our annual corporate planning in Baguio City. This means I only have three days to finalize my report upon my arrival.

OMG.

"Ding, akina ang bato!"

DARNA!!!!
Ayun o!

Hahaha!

Good luck to me! Para positive, I will just be thinking that in between all of that, we will be vacationing in one of the beautiful continents in the world. And after all the reporting and presentation, I can dress up our new house na for Christmas!!! Woohooooo!!!!!

Remember, there is always a positive thing in everything! =D

Outfit of the Day: Early Morning Kaloka Tuesday

Sometimes I contemplate first before I open and read the comment section in my blog so early in the morning. You'll never know what you'll get eh. Thankfully, most of the time naman, around 95% of it, I feel happy because some of you leave really touching messages here. Although I don't reply back that often (which I promise I will super improve on), please know that I appreciate all the kind words. Yan ang aking mga PUSH why I am still blogging up to now.

However, every now and then, I receive nasty comments. Yung mga nakakasira ng araw especially when you know that it's not true. This morning for example, I received a comment from my "fan" daw. After saying that she's a fan, todo lait naman na kulang na lang sabihin niyang ang pangit ko talaga. Then she ended with pero over-all daw, natutuwa daw siya sa blog ko. More power daw.

Weird right? I dunno if she's just a very frank person or a troll pretending to be a fan so that legitimized you mga nega things that she said.

Well, to my "fan", I'm sorry if you feel that way. Then add that to a fantastic personality and PAK! You already! =D

It's all about positivity babeh! Try niyo yan, gaganda kayo! Charot! Hahahaha!

Here's what I'm wearing today. I love that Anika is much closer to me now. Hindi ko alam bakit. Suddenly one day, she keeps on asking for me and follows me around like a shadow! I love it! =)

Enjoy your day guys! =)

Fancy Momsie

I look forward to my birthday and anniversaries because (1) ako ang center of attention and (2) I love receiving gifts!!! Iba ang joy that I feel when I open packages. The anticipation of what's inside-- nakakahigh talaga. Bata pa ako, ganyan na ako. Quesihodang expensive or cheap yan, I always get thrilled to my bones.  Tingnan niyo pagChristmas, ako ang nangunguna lagi under the Christmas Tree =p

Bakit kamo?

The mere fact that they thought of you when they were getting you the gift, kinikilig na talaga ako. I am an easily touched person kaya I really appreciate these things. Ang saya promise. Ang babaw ano?

So imagine my kilig-ness everytime I receive gifts from strangers because of my blog =) From strangers ha?!

One of my favorite gift that I receive through my blog is this vintage necklace with Anika's photo as a pendant.

Ang cute di ba? This was sent to my by Jenny of Fancy Momsie.

Since idol ko ang mga mom-enterpreneurs, let us do a short interview of Jenny =) Malay mo, we can learn a thing or two!

How did you come up with your business?

My products now only started as a hobby and many are liking/loving the necklace or bracelets that I’m wearing and requesting me to create one for them. Then, it came to me why not sell products that I really love doing. Initial designs came out in my blog, FANCY MOMSIE

Why did you come up with that name and what products do you sell?
I named it as Sparkles and Sprinkles by fancy Momsie. Sparkles is my accessory line, mostly vintage and personalise while Sprinkles is my line of natural room & linen sprays and massage oils that comes in 3 variants (Euca-Mint Sprinkles, Lavander Sprinkles, Fresh Bamboo Sprinkles).
I also extend my knowledge in creating these pieces to few women (mostly friends/referred by friends)  who are unemployed with a mission to help creating additional income for them. As part of my Sparkles line, I also create rosaries made of rose-quarzt (favourite stone), torquise, corals, ceramic bead clay, glass beads. These I named it as, “Sparkle in the Sky” a tribute to my mamang who passed away last June.

What are the other services do you offer?
For events like birthdays & weddings, I customize my sprinkles line according to your motiff. Like what I did to a luau birthday party and a hello kitty gift set for christening naman. As well as for my upcoming wedding (church) this September naman (Mommy Fleur: as of press time).
Then, I also offer my "string-me-sparkle"  bead station for kids. They can create their own necklace/bracelets from my selection of beads. My package:
For an Introductory price of P3,500.00 (30 Kiddos) includes:
*      A special “Beading Princess” tiara for the birthday girl.
*      Necklace or Bracelet (one piece only per guest)
*      Gift bag/box for jewellery for every guest
*      An achievement certificate for every guest
*      Loads of fun

Unique idea right? =) You can find Fancy Momsie's contact numbers and email in the photo above =)
