Real Living: Win An Ultimate Home Makeover 2012

Having a toddler in your house is just like having a live hurricane going around your home every single day. When Alvin and I made bukod, we rented this small two storey apartment. It was really small and I loved it. It was perfect for a starting family like us. I decorated it as far as our budget can accommodate. This is how it looked like before:

I blogged about it and you can read it here. The things there are not expensive except for the couch. Php 15,000 is a lot of money for us already that time. We took it from the monetary gifts our wedding guest gave us. The framed bevelled mirror was a house warming gift from Wowa. The rest were bought in Dapitan Arcade, SM Home and Uniwide. pwede na diba?

Fast forward to present, Anika has already learned how to walk, run, climb, grab, destroy etc. This is how our living room looks like now:

Kawawa amp. The small ref there is for delivery to our family house. Anong petsa na di pa din nila kinukuha. We removed almost everything because Anika bumps her head, knee, shin, shoulders in them. She also climbs over the small table and jumps to the sofa. In order for us not to have a heart attack and live longer, we removed all of them.

When Rain and Mitch visited me, they asked anyare daw sa bahay ko. That bad? I thought. Huhuhu! I badly want a makeover!!!!!!!

Things I Am Loving Now

This week has been really ummm.. (what word to use?!) challenging for me.

First, they made me attend the ManCom. Stress because akala ko madami silang concerns sa akin. Second, Girlie texted me that she's leaving us already. Third, I oversaw the first day of turnover of one of our projects then drove all the way to Makati to meet really interesting and lovely people then went back to the head office to do office stuff then rush back to our project (whew!). Fourth, I again attended a meeting/workshop today with the chairman, the president, my boss, the VPs and all property managers where I expected to be questioned and followed up with my department's concern (that didn't happen). And lastly, Alvin and I have LQ now. I won't talk about it here but I hope, like any other magjowa, sana we could fix it. Ang hirap kaya magweekend ng hindi nagpapansinan. Kamote.

ANYWAYS...

To have more positive vibes, I wanna share with you the things that I am loving now.

First up, here's the brochure for our company's IKAW NA campaign for our employees. DMCI Homes aims to recognize their employees who have given extra ordinary service to anyone, whether ka-officemate or client. These brochures are placed in our Customer Care help desk at the ground floor of our building. Some are distributed to the Property Management Offices of our different projects.

Oo ako yan. With my mouth open and everythang! LOL! =))

Next I discovered this fabulous find in Starbucks. You know I love drinking water all the time. And this HUGE Starbucks tumbler is perfect for me. I re-fill it like 2x a day. Fabulous because it was on sale yesterday. 40% off so I got it for only Php 350. Winner!

Next, I found this prayer in my Facebook timeline. Ang ganda ng prayer na ito. For a hypochondriac like me who also thinks that she will die early, this prayer is perfect. I want to memorize this and pray it every day.

Next, I got addicted to Mochiko balls! Grabe I was parang naglilihi talaga. Last weekend, sinuyod ko ang Alabang to find where I can buy this!

Next, I love my magazine purchases this month. Yes! Preview and ofcourse Ok! Philippines. Award ang OK! Philippines this ish because dalawa ang magazine in that pack! They have a Twilight special na magazine with it! Solb na solb!

Last but certainly not the least, I was featured in Cruisin' Mommyhood's blog!!! You can read all about it here. Thank you so much Belle!!!

That's it pancit!

Oh this coming weekend girls, please do not forget to vote for me for the Smartparenting.com.ph and Sangobion Mommy Blogger Award!!!

Happy weekend guys!!!!

Anthology Shoes: A Field Trip Like No Other

Ever since I was young, I loved field trips. I unintentionally wake up very early on the day of that trip. I guess nothing's changed because last Saturday, sa sobrang excited ko, I was up already by 6am. 2pm pa 'Day ang meeting time namin for this lakad. I was invited to a Tea Party-Slash-Factory tour of Anthology Shoes.

Yes, you can all close your mouths now.

We went to the factory where they make Anthology shoes!!!!!!!

OMG.

Deadma kahit na the factory was all the way to Antipolo. I badly wanted to go! I had to make lambing hubby just so he can drive for me. Hanggang Megamall lang ang alam kong puntahan 'teh. Lagpas dun, loss na lola niyo.

Anyways, here's my blog entry dedicated for that day. Pasensya na dahil because excited nga ang lola niyo, I can't help to post all these photos!

Photo bomb with narrations, NOW NA!

Honestly, I've never been to a tea party so I didn't know what to expect. I was one of the first mommies to arrive at the venue. There were so many food!!

The table was lovingly set up by Karrots of Anthology. Yes, the one and only author of the Karotitay blog. I love her!!!

"Stye is nothing without comfort." PAK!

This mint jasmine infusion of Daphne home scents smelled great. I will get one!

Sosyal ang peg ng food layout ni Mother Karrots. Very Martha Stewart! Apir!

Like Karrots, it was also my first time to see scones.

You spread these on it.

The best one there for me was the Caviar pie.

Here's our host Ms. Karrots with her masterpiece =) She was so nice, pretty and kwela. Ganun na ganun din siya on how she is on her blog. She was so funny!!!

They prepared three kinds of tea for us.

These are the nicest mommies you could ever meet! Roll call from left to right:

Jen of J of the Three Boys, Karrots of Karotitay, Eli of The Painter's Wife, Jenny (with her daughter N) of Chronicles of a Nursing Mom, Rone of Mothering Earthlings, Me, Tin of Manila Fashion Observer, Neva of Manila Mommy, and Kris of OC Mom in Manila (with her daughter). I also met the sweet lady behind the creative blog 101 Grams of (Eye) Candy. No photos of her kasi shy type siya but she was really nice and sweet! =)

Mommy bloggers represent!!!
Best in documentation ang peg ko that day.

Here with Ms. Tin.
Sabi ko...

... sa inyo eh =) Photograper akitch!

There were so many shoes! Some of them were on sale #pataykangbataka

I can't wait for these to come out in their stores! I fitted them and they were really comfy and soft!

Here are the shoes in my wishlist:

A nude Hampton wedge. I'm not sure though if this is already available in stores.

Hampstead Black abstract. I bought this!

This pretty blue flats isn't available yet in stores.

The Anthology soles which are made specifically for each size.

Anthology shoes also have a 3mm memory foam. This makes the shoes really comfy!

They will soon launch the Anthology Junior. Anthology shoes for kids! =0 Pictured beside the soles are the very, very soft real leather that makes the shoe. Winner!

The mommies who are wearing Anthology shoes that day =)

Ivan and Karrots explained to us how they make Anthology shoes =)

After the talkies and the eating, we all went down to see The Factory.

I.WANT. THE. NUDE. FLATS!!!

These hardware are unique for every size! Meaning the size that they use for size 5 is customized for that size only. They don't use it for the other sizes.
After the "field trip" came my favorite part.... SHOPPING!!! Woohoo!!!!

Here are our shoes!! =)

I love this sign on their office. Very applicable today =)

From Jen's blog, you can find Anthology in these stores:

  • Anthem (Powerplant and Shangri-la)

Outfit of the Day: Friday dress

Good morning guys!

Ambilis! It's Friday already!! I feel I need an extra 3 hours a day just to cope up with the things that I have to do! Nakakaloka!

Anyways, I wanna update you on what happened na with Girlie. When I got home that night, I talked to her. I asked her, what agency it is and where they are sending her. She told me that our neighbor told her about it. Gusto kong kalbuhin yung kapitbahay namin na iyon. Anyways, she said that she has to leave on July 18 and live at the apartment nung agency. Sabi daw kasi nung agency, they have to parang quarantine the applicants kasi daw baka biglang mawala then masayang yung inabono nila for the processing.

Next, waitress daw sa Singapore ang work. 16k a month daw ang sweldo pero 8 months daw silang hindi susuweldo dun sa SG to pay for all the expenses that the agency made abono. Next, they will only give her 20 dollars a month muna for 8 months.

Fishy right? First, sa pagkakaalam ko, SG is now very strict in hiring non-Singaporeans. Coming from an engineering field, alam ko yan. Lahat na ata ng engineer namin nasa SG na. Next, 20 dollars a month?! In SG?! Eh miski monthly napkin ata niya baka kulang pa pambili nun eh! And next, di ba ang mga waitress na maaayos abroad dapat graduate ng HRM?! Tama ba?

I told Girlie about this. Niloko ko pa nga, "Nagkapassport ka lang, OFW na agad ang peg mo?!". Hehe. Anyways, I said that I need the agency name so that I can have it checked in POEA. We told her that the agency sounded fishy. Ayaw. Gusto pa din daw niya magtry. And besides daw, madami na daw napaalis yung agency na yun. And so I negotiated with her. Gusto na daw kasi niya magtrabaho. I told her fine. Magaral na lang siya in TESDA or finish a BS course. She'll think about it daw. Tomorrow, she'll go to TESDA and this university in Sucat to inquire.

Shet. Sana may magustuhan siyang course.

Since we are on the topic, naiinis ako na there are agencies existing like this. They take advantage of naive people like Girlie na ang gusto eh makapunta abroad. Bwisit talaga. Eh paano na lang kung wala kaming pakialam kay Girlie tapos hinayaan na lang namin basta basta yun umalis?! Hay naku talaga.

Anyways, ang aga aga, dapat good vibes lang. GOOD VIBES come to momma!!!!

Here's what I'm wearing today:

Osha, payday today and sale na ang Zara and Mango. Hunusdili sa shopping mga muthers! =) Take care!!

Laters baby!
