Marciano's: A Quickie Review

One of my favorite restaurants in Greenbelt 3 is Marciano's. I think sister restaurant nila ang Sumosam, which is also one of my go to restaurants at Resorts World =)

We dined one Saturday at Marciano's in Greenbelt 3 with Wowa. I like ordering the steak with sausage because their steak is soft and the sauce tastes great. Yun lang, after that day, I don't think that we can eat at Marciano's ulit with Wowa. Na-turn off kasi siya eh. While we were ordering kasi:

MAMA: Umm.. can we have the bread with dip (pointing at the menu)

WAITRESS: May bayad po yan.

The waitress said it ng walang ka kabog kabog that people from the other tables heard it too. I saw my mom's eyes widen in shock.

MAMA: Alam kong may bayad yan. Why do you think we're ordering ha?!

Hindi talaga tinigilan ni Wowa yung waitress. She lectured her on how to answer the customers properly. In fairness naman kay Mama, she was embarrassed with what happened kasi. Napahiya yung tao. I know maybe the waitress didn't mean it pero naman, diba? And my mom's not really the person you would want to irritate or offend. Ayun sayang tuloy. Ang sarap pa naman ni Wowa kasama eating out.

Anyways, here are our orders:

Pizza that was really yummy!

My peyborit steak and sausages

Alvin and Toots had this rice.

Alvin's order.

Toots' order.
Their food is okay. The servings are good for two so when you analyze, it justifies the price. You can try and see if you like it there. I tried googling reviews pero I didn't get okay ones. Bakit kaya? Ako personally, okay naman sa akin yung food. Nothing fantastic but okay naman for its price.

After eating we went around. Anika saw Jollibee so she ran there. I swear if somebody asks siguro Anika who she would want to marry now, si Jollibee yun! Or si Barney. Or is BJ. Or si Handy Manny. Or si Ozo.

Here are some photos I took using my Iphone.

Sando from Gingersnaps, skirt gifted by one of my titas, sneakers from Converse

Ang cute noh? =) Wowa smiled na after seeing her and returned to her good mood. Na-bad trip talaga kasi siya sa Marciano's earlier eh.

Grandchildren has super powers over their grandparents, don't you think? =)

Outfit of the Day: Mother Daughter OOTD Wednesday

I was asleep by 830pm last night. Sabay kami ni Anika. I love how Anika wants me to carry her in order for her to sleep. Kay Girlie, hindi naman siya ganun. Ha!

I notice that Anika would ask for Girlie when she's sleepy already.

ANIKA: Nanay, lights pwees! Gurwie! Gurwie!

But then I tell her that Girlie's sleeping already in the other room. With that, she would climb over me and make me carry her so that she could sleep. I'd carry her but recline myself in a semi sitting/lying down position on our bed. Anika would rest her head on my shoulders and rub my arm with her hand. She does this while I sing all the nursery rhymes that I know. Buti na lang my parents bought me all those nursery rhymes cassette tapes and books when I was young. Memorize ko lahat yan. Plus the new songs I hear from Barney, madami-dami ang pondo ko sa nursery rhymes. Imagine, 20 minutes of singing nonstop different songs! Hindi pwede umulit because if I do, Anika will shout "No!". That means, na-sing ko na yung song na yun. Nakakaloka.

Nevertheless, I'm happy. Kahit na my impacted tooth is throbbing, okay lang. At least Anika sleeps with me. And last night was the very first night that she slept beside me on our bed (since we bought her bed). Tuwang tuwa ako. I noticed also that she didnt wake up that much to ask for milk all throughout the night. Once lang, at 5am na. When she saw na wala siya sa bed niya, ayun umiyak. Carry daw papunta sa bed niya.

Tonight sana ganyan ulit =)

Anyways, here's what I'm wearing today. I read from Ms. Daphne, one of the classiest but practical moms I know, that she has various striped tops. Eto ako, starting to make gaya na kasi peg ko siya when I'm older. Heehee!

Striped top from Mango, Mango jeans, Belt from Divisoria, Crocs wedges.
Yup, I'm going to our project sites today hence the comfy attire. I have to mention that I love my job. Lahat ng aspect that I know and love, I get to apply in my everyday tasks. I love it talaga --stress and all!

And ofcourse, the little girl was also in the mood for the outfit of the day. Here she is wearing a shirt from SM Department store, a baby bloomers from Next 9 (you can get it from Mothering Earthlings Shop), uber slippers that her Ninang Arnaiz gifted her with and one of my necklaces

She was copying my pose! Adorable!!!

I love you so much anak! =)

There! I hope Anika brightened up your day! =) Happy Wednesday everyone!

Things Anika Says

Anika's growing to be mega daldal. She got my kadaldalan and his Tatay's loud voice. Yun lang, Anika's voice is loud but kinda in the matinis side. As in, high and sharp. It can drive us crazy sometimes, I swear!

Regardless, Alvin and I are mega aliw with Anika. She knows how to express herself (yes, including lying on the floor while failing her hands during her tantrums) and she knows how to ask something if she wants it. If you don't give it to her, she will hold your face with both her hands, look into your eyes and say, "Pwees, Nanay?". Omg, how could you say no to that?

Anika's also into plural words nowadays. As in she says:

"Gurwie! Waters pwees!"
"Wigos!!" (ligo)
"Nanay, ouches!"

Don't look at me! I dunno where she got that lol!

Anyways, here are some of our endearing Anika moments. I wanna post it her so that when she's a bit older, I can recall some of the stories and tell her how cute she was when she was just a toddler.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Alvin was carrying Anika and they were going down the stairs because Anika pee'd on our bedroom floor.

ALVIN: Girlie, paki punasan yung ihi ni Anika, natapakan ko.

ANIKA: Eewww...

=)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Whenever we will go out with Anika but without Jekjek and Girlie, Anika will shout at them:

"Bhuy guys! Tik kir! See you!" (flying kiss then waves)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Whenever Alvin arrives from the office and Anika hears the car door shuts, she will start shouting on top of her lungs from the top of the stairs,

"TATAY! TATAY! HAAAYYY! (Hi!) COME! PLAY! LAWDR! LAWDR! (louder)

And she will not stop until she sees Alvin go up the stairs to our room =)

------------------------------------------------------------------

When Alvin, Anika and I have lakad, I will be sitting with her in the front seat. When Alvin's taking time fixing something in the back seat, Anika will get impatient. While patting the driver's seat, she will say:

"Tatay! Come sit! Drive!"

=)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Wherever we are, kahit na sa toy store or in a mall or just driving around, I love how everything amazes Anika.

ANIKA: Waow!! Nanay, loookow! (look oh!) Tricycle!

ANIKA: (gasp) Waaaooowww! Nanay! Loookow! Jabibi! (jollibee!)

ANIKA:  Waow! Gurwi loookow! Twoys!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------

And there's my experience with her farting. Yes, farting. As in utot.

We were watching TV in our room. She was dancing because Barney was singing. She suddenly stopped and came over to me.

ANIKA: Nanay, utot ako.

ME: What anak?

And then there it is! I smelled it na!

ME: Anak! Ang baho! (while fanning my nose with my hand)

ANIKA: Ewwwww! Baho utot!

Hahahaha!

I made this kwento to Alvin. One time, the three of us were hanging out on our bed.

ME: Di ba Anika, utot ka kanina?

ANIKA: Yes!

ALVIN: Eww! Sinong umutot ngayon?

ANIKA: Ikaw!

Hahahaha! Akala mo maiisahan mo si Anika ha!

------------------------------------------------------------------

I have always told Girlie and Jekjek not to let Anika watch TV if it's not Barney, Disney Junior or her educational DVDS.

ME: Girlie ha, ayokong nanonood si Anika ng mga wala sa listahan ng binilin kong pwede niya panoorin.

GIRLIE: Oo Ati. Hindi naman siya nanonood ng TV.

ANIKA: Showtaaayymmm!!!

Hindi pala ha.

We love you so much baby girl!!! =)

Outfit of the Day: Juana Tuesday

Good Morning everyone!

I just realized now that Anika's birthday is so near already! One month na lang halos! OMG, I haven't prepared for anything yet!! Grrrrr!

Kung ako lang talaga ang masusunod, I'll rent one of our clubhouses and dun na lang ako magparty with a Barney theme. Anika's seriously addicted to Barney! We watch Barney videos every freaking day!  However, Alvin gave me a very strict budget. A very strict budget na pang fast food party lang. Anong klase yan! Na-challenge ako. Good thing, Anika's in love with Jollibee. This makes it very obvious na we'll hold it in a Jollibee restaurant. But where?!

We'll be having 150 guests. I want to have a big space, not a cramped one room venue. I'm claustrophobic. Hindi ko keri ang mga masisikip na place. At least Alvin agrees with me in that aspect.

After asking where's the largest Jollibee party place in the Metro, I got suggestions: the one in Blue Wave and the one in Greenmeadows. Ang layo ng Greenmeadows so we decided to check out the one in Blue Wave.

The party place of Jollibee in Blue Wave is really big! It's composed of two room and you can remove the partition between. I liked it immediately. Yun lang, ang daming bawal! Bawal photobooth! Bawal non Barbie and non Jollitown character giveaway! You can't serve the cake not unless you bought it from Red Ribbon! Two hours lang daw pwede! And so many people are reserving the function rooms that I don't have a chance of extending the party hours without clashing to the party after ours.

I wanted to cry! =c

I vented out in FB and one of my good friends in HS called me. He's working for Jollibee and he's willing to help me daw! Yey!!!! We talked about checking out their Jollibee branch in Macapagal-Tramo and the one in Santana Grove in Sucat. I am going to haggle if I can pay na lang to extend the party hours to at least three hours man lang. Hopefully they have a bigger area =)

And then for the cake, I'm talking to these really nice suppliers. As usual, I'm so excited for Anika's cake! Naturally, Barbie cake itech to be in line with the Barbie theme in Jollibee! I'm such a cake person talaga! =)

For the giveaways, I'm thinking about it pa. I'll be going to Divisoria to source out what giveaways we can give out. Which reminds me, I have to find na the one who will do the invitations! Hay! But I'm really really excited!!!

Osha, here's what I'm wearing today. I think I wore this top already, I can't remember. But I hope I styled it differently now:

Top from Juana (250 pesos alng yan!), pants from Wowa, VINCCI shoes and belt from Divisoria

I like this top. Maganda talaga sa Juana. I wish they open a store in Makati =)

There you go guys. I'll be finishing my reports na. I was so stressed yesterday at work to a point na I drank one bottle of San Mig Lemon in the evening, all by my lonesome self. Tama nga ang Alvin. Sometimes, nakaka-relax ang beer every now and then =)

Happy Tuesdays everyone!

Weekend Loots

Alvin took me shopping last weekend. I dunno what got into him pero hindi na ako nagtanong kasi baka bawiin pa. Lol.

I bought some stuff in Mango. There are clothes that are 70% off pa pala there from the old collection. Their new collection naman's so nice! I got a sweater, a couple of striped T-shirts, sando and a polo for work. I'm happy with my purchases naman and I can't wait to share them with you =)

We also shopped for Anika's toys at Toys R Us.

We got her this bowling toy na pinagsisisihan na ngayon ni Alvin. Alvin would put the pins then Anika will make lapit with the ball and throw the ball at the pins! Repeat this 20 times! Hahaha! O loko, napagod ang Alvin. Ayaw naman siyang tantanan ni Anika because the bagets is super excited! But it's okay because Anika's infectious laughter is so worth all the hassle of putting up the pins again and again =)

We also bought her this educational toy with shape and numbers. Gets na gets niya na kasi yung letters na ganito niya eh. She can put all the letters in the right holes. So this time, we'll teach her naman about numbers and shapes.

Eto si Alvin talaga ang may idea. He bought Anika these wound-up penguin and chick. Rather than buying a live one, eto na lang. Hindi nakaka-kunsenya pagna-matay #morbid

You might be wondering what happened to Anika's pet chick, Pinky. No, it didn't die. Super duper annoying lang talaga siya. It kept on chirping nonstop while following you literally everywhere. If it reaches you, it will peck your feet. It doesn't hurt naman. Annoying lang talaga. Lol. So Alvin took Pinky to my father in law's house because he raises roosters in the hope that she will become a good panabong someday. Joke lang. I have to check pa what happened na pala with Pinky. Wala na din kami balita eh #badpetowners

Anyways, back to shopping, I also got these hand washes from Watsons at Php 118 for buy one take one. Sulit na.

While saving up for my first La Mer jar, eto na muna ang afford ng lola niyo. Combined na din yan sa katamaran maghanap ng ibang brand dun sa SM that night. I was torn between getting Ponds and Olay. I've used Olay before so eto na lang yung binili ko. I bought a day cream and a night cream. Ang dry kasi talaga ng skin ko. I need tons of moisturizer!

Sadly, pinapaltos si Anika dun sa gold shoes niya =c Maybe, sumisikip na. So I bought her a new Stride Rite shoes! Kontrang kontra ang Wowa diyan sa sandals na yan! Ang mahal daw. Ako naman kasi, it's expensive pero super comfy sa paa ng kids. And, na-aadjust siya so we don't have to worry that our babies will grow out of them agad. Anika's first Stride Rite shoes was sobrang sulit. It lasted siguro ng one year din kasi we can adjust it to accommodate her growing feet.

There you go guys! Kayo, what are your recent loots? =)

Share naman diyan!

Outfit of the Day: Emerald Monday

I have been pondering about this ever since I learned that I was pregnant with Anika.

Last weekend, I was talking with one of my kumares. She has a daughter as well but is older than Anika by how many years. We were talking about how difficult it is to raise kids. I know I've already said it here. What you are now-- your ugali, characteristics, how you think, how you tackle your day to day activities, how you decide: these are already in you by the time you were seven years old. This means, the years 0-7 are very important in developing the values ng bata. This also means that your parents or those who were with you growing up and how you were raised, have a great impact on what you are now.

Eto na nga. Pressure di ba? Personally, I want Anika to grow up na may takot sa Diyos. I want her to be strong and independent but with right values intact. I want her na hindi magpapa-api but in the same time, I want her to think of others and care for them. I want her to be really street smart in life. Alam natin na hindi naman talaga yung matatalino lang yung nagsusuceed in life pero yung mga may diskarte sa buhay. I want her to be affectionate and warm.

How do I do it for Anika to be like this? If we become very attentive, baka ma-spoiled or hindi matuto magdecision by themselves. If we let go, they might feel that they are not loved. If we become strict, baka mag-rebelde. If we become lenient, baka mabuntis ng maaga (knock on wood, Diyos ko po!). I know that we should put it all in a balance but where's the line?! Eto ang mga time that I wish pagka-ire ko kay Anika eh may kasamang manual yung bata on how we're supposed to raise her. It's really nakakaloka in the sense na, you always check yourself if what you're doing is right and will really benefit the daughter.

In the end, as my kumare and I concluded this topic, minsan it's all up to the person na din. Prayers will help a lot in raising the kids the right way. Parents make mistake. We will make mistake pero hindi pwedeng walang learnings na kasama. With that, to all parents out there, I wish you all the luck in raising your kids. If you have tips for us, please do let us know =)

Anyways, here's what I'm wearing today:

Sweater from Mango, Bench skinny pants and Aldo shoes

I like this sweater very much. It's very comfortable. I was tempted to buy all the colors pero naghunusdili ako. Mahalia ng konti eh. It's around Php 750 plus ata each. Baka pandilatan na naman ako ng mata ni Sombrero hehe.

Have a nice week you guys! =) End na ng February! Ambilis!!!!

K-Palette One Day Tattoo

I've always wanted a tattoo. I was about to get one but I got pregnant with Anika. When Alvin learned that we were having a girl, mega kontra sa aking tattoo plans! Baka gayahin daw ng anak niya. Sabi ko nga eh di magpatattoo din siya para hindi siya OP sa aming mag-ina. Ayun, binatukan ako.

Anyways, that's just my intro for this mega, super duper fabulous find that Wowa and I discovered last weekend. Actually, alam ko na siya. I just showed it to Wowa para she'll be amazed and buy me too! #pasensyaunicahijaeh =)

I'm talking about this K-Palette One Day Tattoo for your eyebrows and eyelids that you can find in Beauty Bar.

I've been reading about this from various fashion and beauty blogs. Bestseller daw itong eyebrow "pencil" and eye liner in Japan.

First, lemme show you the K-Palette eyeliner.

Php 895
From Beauty Bar about K-Palette Eyeliner:

This quick drying waterproof liquid eyeliner comes with a patented micro-fiber fine brush tip for superb control and ease in drawing. High water resistant polymer creates long lasting and non-smudge eyeline that withstands water, sweat and skin sebum.

*Holy grail eyeliner of make up gurus and top selling eyeliner in Japan!

One pen will last 3 to 4 months of daily use.

I tried this eyeliner and I was so happy because it's very easy to apply! This is perfect for make up dummies like me! Kahit pasmado ako, I was able to draw a decent line just above my upper lashes. I love it talaga! I got one in Deep Brown.

Next is the K-Palette Eyebrow Liner

Php 895
From Beauty Bar about K-Palette Eyebrow Liner:

It’s Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner is a heaven sent product for people with sparse eyebrows as it literally stays put until you want it to. It is water resistant and its translucent ink helps users avoid the common problem of “over-darkened” eyebrows. No need to check your eyebrows every once in awhile to make sure your eyebrows are still there. Yahoo to perfect eyebrows the whole day!

This revolutionary liquid eyebrow liner defines your eyebrows naturally through its remarkable “dual” flat point tip. You can choose to simultaneously shade, mark and tint your eyebrows in an amazing long lasting way with its smudge and water-resistant polymers. This eyebrow liner is made of just the right amount of translucence such that the color is deep enough to conceal sparse areas of your eyebrow but not too dark that it gives a severe, unforgiving tone. If you want a darker tone, just go over the same area twice or more. Suitable for everyone, from beginners to professionals!

You see, Wowa and I don't have that much kilay anymore. I never go out without putting eyebrows on me. When I tried the K-Palette eyebrow liner, super duper na-bonggahan talaga ako! It's also very easy to use and the same time, it looks really natural!!

Here's the pretty sales lady in Beauty Bar, putting the eyeliner on Wowa. She already put eyebrows on her. Wala yan talaga sa totoong buhay. Lol

Wowa then tried putting the liner on herself with the sales lady teaching her how. Wowa's also amazed because it made her peepers really pretty and bigla daw siyang nagka-kilay!

Some information about the eyebrow liner:

Siyempre, magpapahuli ba ang Anika?! Hay! Napaka-arte talaga! I'm not surprised though. We have a pondo of two generations of kaartehan where she can pick it from! Haha!

Sa sobrang tuwa ng mudra ko, she bought us an eyeliner and eyebrow liner each. My diwa was literally doing cartwheels sa tuwa! Yahoooo! Thanks so much Mama!! Kay sarap talaga ng unica hija! =D

Guys, I really recommend these two products for your eyes and eyebrows. They're very user friendly and looks oh so natural on the fez. Try it! It stays for 24 hours and is washable with just soap and water. Sulit siya, promise!

Pasensya na blurred. Pasmado kasi ako eh.
How about you guys? Any fabulous finds this weekend? =)
