Sombrero Sitcom: Anika the Talker

The moment Anika started talking, everything changed in the Sombrero house. Before it was only me who was madaldal. Now, Anika's voice rises up above everyone elses sa bahay.

ANIKA (shouting from the top of the stairs): Nanay!! Come here pweees! Nanaaaaayyy!!!

ANIKA (shouting from inside the bathroom): Nanaaaay!! Look me!!! Look me!!!

ANIKA (shouting from inside the car): Nanaaaay! Lesgow!! Faster!!

Mind you, she's a talker too. It's a mixture of Filipino, English and Bisaya. She tells you about everything and anything much to our amusement. She's also smart in a way that she knows how to talk us into doing what she wants. Paghindi effective, she will look at us with her big eyes, clasp her hands in front of her and say, "Nanay, pweeeeasse?"

Sino naman ang hindi makakapag-give in diyan?!

We also need to watch what we say when we're around her. One time inside the car, I accidentally said the word SHIT. To my horror, Anika went "shit. shit. shit." all the way to Makati. Another time, Alvin accidentally said the word PUCHA so Anika kept repeating that word for like five minutes. Grrrr. Alvin and I should seriously wash our mouths with soap grabe!! We are now extra caution with the words coming out of our mouths.

Anika also says a lot of things that surprise us:

In the car, while we were on our way somewhere:

ALVIN: Where are we going Anika?

ANIKA: Mowl!!!! (mall)

ALVIN: What are you going to do there?

ANIKA: Shopping!!!

Nakita ko lumaki mata ng asawa ko.

ALVIN: Anong tinuturo mo dito?!

ME: Hindi ko kaya tinuruan yan!

Alvin gave me an incredulous look.

Promise. Cross my heart.

Fingers crossed behind my back. Hehe.

Out of nowhere:

ANIKA: Bless yow!

Last night, Girlie was making her asar. She placed a small blanket over her head. 

Anika exclaimed,"You tago me! No!". 

Ikaw na taglish anak.

ANIKA: Sombrerooow!

Girlie and Jekjek love making Anika asar all the time. The other day, I was there. Inaasar ni Girlie and Jekjek si Anika na take care daw ni Girlie si Jekjek. 

ANIKA (pointing her two index fingers at them): You! Guys!

Walks away then lets both her hands fall to her sides..

ANIKA: Oh men!!

Hehehe! I love you baby girl! I'm looking forward to more conversations with you =)
