I know that I have posted a lot of entries about kiddie books. Malamang utang uta na kayo. But please let me post this last one I made dedicated to (what else?!) Anika's books. I took these photos already kasi prior to receiving the books Wowa got her. Sayang effort ko noh.
I wanted to show you guys kasi the different kinds of books that we get for Anika.

| Ganto ka dami yun. |
Faye said that when buying books for your babies, the simpler, the better. For example, if you are teaching your kids about counting, you can get a book something with this content:
 |
| This is Anika's Number book. |
It is also advisable to give books with textures to babies. Tandaan, they're more on the touchy-feely mode. Or with Anika, sinusubo niya sa mouth niya to identify what it is. Here are some touch and feel books you might want to check out.
 |
| Anika just loves touching that fur. |
We also bought Anika a nursery rhymes book. When we sing Incey Wincey Spider or Twinkle Twinkle, she rushes to her bookshelf, gets this book and opens it to these pages.
The books above ranges from Php 150 to like Php 500 each.
Faye got the following books naman at Book Sale.
 |
| They're very cheap. |
These are the Dwell Studio Books that I already blogged about.
 |
| The Dwell Studio books costs Php 455 each. |
LT got this book naman for Anika. This is helpful in teaching the kids expressions.
 |
| Anika goes gigil when she sees this |
Anika's Ninang Vivian gave her this book naman.
 |
| It's like peekaboo book. There are flaps that your kids can open to see who's hiding. |
So there. I will no longer be posting about books anytime soon! =) hahaha.
Mommies, what kinds of books do you buy for your little ones?
Hi Mommy Fleur!
ReplyDeleteI'm also one huge wriggling bookworm and like you I want to pass on my passion for reading to Johan. Madami dami na din cyang books I've collected because everytime I go out and napapadaan sa booksale hindi pwedeng hindi ako makakabili ng one or two. He also has a lot of books given by relatives and his fave so far is the touch-feel book "Chirpy Chick". Will blog about it one of these days.
I love Anika's books esp the Dwell Studio ones!
good for you for giving anika a head start in reading!! i hope she can develop a love for reading then eventually graduate to the "young reader" books as she grows older.
ReplyDeleteas an educator of grade school kids, i can't stress enough how important reading is. parents put too much importance on buying the latest PSP, Wii, Nintendo, Ipad, and whatever for their kids instead of sitting down to read with them -- and it shows in how my students write and in their limited vocabulary!! sobrang frustration ko talaga ito. so, continue on in your quest for nice books for anika. take her to fully booked and powerbooks where you can sit and read (for free) for as long as you like! and yes, i'm also a loyalist/fan of booksale. my sister just found imported titles for my 6-year old (brand new ha), for only P25 each!! i've found great titles by eric carle, snoopy and charlie brown encyclopedias, and hordes of other imported books there at a FRACTION of the price. di ka talaga magsisisi!! for the price of one dwell studio book, you can buy maybe 5 books na (or more) sa booksale!!
I remember how expensive children's books are in Manila. Second hand books are very practical. Sabi nga nila, it's not a specific book that will make your child smart but the habit of reading. Try getting used books from Amazon too if you have access to the delivery. Happy reading!
ReplyDelete@Mae: Hopefully we can pass our love for books talaga with our babies. Kasi di ba Topaz Mommy said that if someone loves to read, he can never be bored in his life =)
ReplyDelete@Browneyedgirl: I totally agree with you. It's a bit difficult now to encourage reading because of all the technology for the kids. Thanks so much for sharing!
@The Missus: Yes they are very expensive and good thing we have second hand books for sale here =) I want to try Amazon too but I think they need a credit card for that. Alam mo naman, allergic na ako sa credit cards hehehe
